SpheresMUX is a unique, strongly themed online text based role playing game that runs on a TinyMUX 2.3 server. Spheres is a multi-user shared hullicination in the finest of MUSH traditions, it is a pure role play system. There are no hard-coded monsters and mobs to fight, no unavoidable player killers. The only statistic you need in this game is one open, curious and creative mind. First available to the public July 1st 1998 Spheres is home to a small, friendly, dedicated and mature group of role players. So what's the theme?

Spheres is a curious blend of science fiction and fantasy, a place of unicorns, dragons and technology beyond all imagination. Maintained by an entity known to its denizens simply as 'The Core Computer' Spheres consists of a tiling of a million sphere bubbles, each containing it's own sentient civilization, each with its own environment, culture, and physical laws. In one land superconductors are traded as commodities, in others a mechanical pocketwatch simply will not function. Mighty magics may be cast in one land, and fizzle in another. Each race must struggle with neighbours foreign to them in every fundamental way, culturally, technologically, physically. Newcomers to the spheres, often called 'New Ones' by residents are 'integrated' by the computer, their essence transformed to become one with the species of the land they are now doomed to call home for the remainder of their lives. The story of how each new one arrived is different, but all have one thing in common - they encountered a Core portal, and in passing it, there was no going back.
